This series stems from Pamela’s memory
and fascination of her relationship with dolls.
Overcoming her disappointment with her adult
perception of the lost human quality
of dolls she believed in as a child,
she attempts to adjust her perception by
montaging their portraits onto photographs of women.
In doing so, she discovers the montaged portraits
are even less lifelike, adding drama and a biting whimsy,
creating new and extraordinarily haunting creatures
far removed from her experience with dolls as a child.
Pamela has taken that unfettered
imagination she had as a child,
wondering if maybe she lost it as an adult,
but really it has been refocused.
She has channeled her inner child with
experiences and witty maturity of adulthood
to create these fascinating new creatures/beings.

Pamela’s project, So Sweet,
derived from the expression,
“you are so sweet”.
Often people have described
the artist as such
and she isn’t quite
sure what is meant
by this phrase.
Photographing dolls,
candy and other sweets,
she digitally montages
the literal pictures,
going into the surreal
world to create
her feministic view.
“Lick Me” is a playful project
that Pamela created to
have the joy of ice cream
literally come alive.
Photographing her own ice cream
creations, sweets, edible
decorations and utensils
used to both scoop
and eat ice cream,
she then montaged them with
her photographs of dolls faces
and doll body parts producing
her imaginative ice cream people.
“Living through the hot Arizona
summers,ice cream in many
forms becomes an
enjoyed dessert.
It brought out the child in me,
enabling my imagination to
take hold and create my ice cream
people as they beckon
viewers to Lick Me.”
Floral Fancies stems from Pamela’s
deep passion for botanicals.
Whether hours spent in the
“Desert Botanical Garden” in Arizona,
hiking though the South West landscape,
strolling around Central Park
in New York City or browsing
in upscale floral shops she is
continually in awe by the beauty
and variety offered by nature.
Cherishing delicate colors and prickly
Skins of the South West botanicals,
luscious deep colors of East Coast
gardens and profusion of variety
of hot house flowers,
Pamela combines them with
her love of portraiture offering
viewers a chance to share
divine creatures of her imagination.
The Inclusive Tea Party is Pamela’s
response to the overbearing
nature of cancel culture.
As she watched historical monuments
being torn down and woke
accusations being used helter skelter,
she retreated into the simple children’s
tradition of having innocent tea parties.
These tea parties became contemporary
by the all-inclusive guests.
She hopes this adds a bit of levity to
what is going on in 2021
and also symbolizes her belief
that “all lives matter”
and should be cherished.

representing diverse demographics
and combine these images with
those of dolls, resulting in a series
of photomontages that offer yet
a third persona, provoking
dialogue about stereotypes.
